An Amazing Experience

I am going to introduce myself just for those who don’t know me.  Hi my name is Rachel Jackson and I am a singer/songwriter and speaker.  I write music inspired by the Word of God.  I share my life experiences and how I overcame to bring healing to the broken.  I strongly believe in being real and honest with God, others, and yourself.  It is good to know who you are and not wear a mask.  Be who God has called YOU to be. I love to promote camps because they promote Jesus and I have seen so many lives changed through them. We sent our son to Green Country Camp this year with our church. Green Country Camp ( http://www.greencountrycamp.com/ ) is located in Disney, Oklahoma and it is the camp that our Association supports for children's camp and youth camps.  He had an amazing time and we could see growth in him and a passion to have a deeper relationship with Jesus when he returned home.   We were so honored to be asked by John Parker (Cam...

Refuge Verdigris, Falls Creek, and Worship

Goodness, I have so much to share!  I feel that I need more time so I can post all that has been happening.  I would like to interact more with those of you that love being involved with social media.  So the first thing I'd like to share some of what all has taken place this summer.  Our life was blessed by various camps for the entire month of June.  Falls Creek being one of them.  Falls Creek is a BGCO owned and operated summer youth camp located in the beautiful Arbuckle Mountains in Davis, OK. Each week they host over 6000 students and sponsors on the campgrounds. There are eight total weeks of youth camp at Falls Creek and each summer we host a total of upwards of 54,000 guests!   Here is a link to see more information about this camp!  You should check it out and consider it if you have never been and are looking for an experience to have with your students. Branching Out

This evening I was trimming our bushes and it made me think how sometimes we as Christians need a trim. Over time some little branches start growing their own way then the bush begins to look lopsided or out of shape.  Some of the branches stuck out so obviously it made me laugh thinking, "Why on earth didn't I see that and trim it before?" Other branches were not such a big deal but still affected the shape and just needed to be minimized. Sometimes life too is hard to balance.  If I had just taken a step back and took a good look at the big picture I would have seen it was not in the best shape or what was intended.  I think life can be this way at times.  We have so many pursuits that are not bad necessarily but in the big picture don't have a lot of value. We also have some things that are so big and obvious but for some reason, we just didn't bother to remove it. Maybe we were thinking it would just work itself out.  Concluding thought, I needed a trim....

Ja'Marc Davis

Me and Jared took a little trip to Dallas and met up with this guy!!! So worth the 10 hours on the road! Ja'Marc is truly a blessing and we love his heart to reach the lost with the best of his abilities! Thank you @jamarcdavis for sharing your ministry and your story with us as well as hearing ours! We are friends on a mission! Excited for the future! JaMac Davis After serving 3 years as a backup dancer for Christian hip-hop pioneer’s ETW and serving 2 years as backup dancer for Carman, Davis struck out on his own. In 1996 Ja'Marc’ s musical career exploded on the Christian music scene with the emergence of pop vocal group Raze. Raze brought an infectious energy to the Christian contemporary scene in Europe first, before signing with one of the world’s top recording companies, catapulting them to the top of the national charts. Raze racked up over 500,000 albums sold and garnered critical acclaim with 4 album releases. 3 Dove Awards accompanied the two #1 songs “Alwa...

Thank You!

Thank you to all the churches that have shown me love and support.  Thank you for your encouragement and friendship.  Lets reach the lost together!

Fields of Faith

This Wednesday Jared and I are lead ing worship along with a team of other local ministers!  This is so awesome because of the fact that the focus is to worship God in unity and not on what church we represent .  Our essential belief in Christ is the same which is f or s tudents to see our hearts and to gather as the body of Christ . It is important and beautiful in the eyes of God.  I believe this blesses him to see his people encourage and lead together for the sake of winning the lost and glorifying his name! The event is called “Fields of Faith” and it is worldwide!  Students across the world will gather on their school ’s athletic field to hear fellow students share their testimonies, challenge each other to read the Bible , and come to faith in Jesus Christ.   Jared and I took part in a “ Fields of Faith ” event for the first time in Sulphur Springs, Texas and wanted to bring it to Verdigris , Oklahoma .  There will be F...

Aliyah's Baptism

What a blessing my daughter has been in our lives! Aliyah is 6 years old. It blesses our hearts how God changes the hearts of little children so much they are compelled to desire to follow through in baptism. She asked to do this and with excitement and passion. We are so proud of her! Another exciting thing was her daddy got to baptize her! This was the first time Jared has been privileged to do a baptism and it was his daughter!! So cool and a memory forever!

Be Real. Be Honest

Something I believe in is talking candidly and honestly without fear of what others might think.  It should be for another's benefit to let them know of something that is usually hard to discuss. It is good to express sincere thoughts and opinions that are intended to be helpful. The two are not necessarily always inclusive but it is good to actually mean what you are saying and learn from each other.  Real talk is about things that are meaningful which is the opposite of what seems to be on Facebook.    There is something funny about honesty.  We often wrongly assign honesty to one we admire, but sadly, honesty is a characteristic not inherent or natural in humanity. To be truly and completely honest with someone, one must first be truly and completely honest with oneself. A lot of times we are incapable of seeing past our own fears, desires, prejudices, convictions, emotional attachments, memories, and flawed perceptions. It is hard viewing things witho...

Speak Life & Have Hope

The reason I write these newsletters at all is because I hope to encourage, minister truth and hope, reach out to people, and partner in prayer.  Because if you ask any of my closest friends, I am not a good speller or good with grammar, or desire to be a writer at all.  In fact its almost like one of the things I don’t like to take time to do, I would much rather talk face to face then write.  But for some reason God has laid this on my heart.  So I write when it comes to me and just flows out so easy it took no time at all.  This is really how my songs come to together as well.  Written in 15 mins and done. :) Today I would like to share Jovie Marie Jackson!  She is our new little addition to our family.  Now we are the Jackson 5. hehe!  Her name means Joyful and she sure is!!!  She smiles more than any baby I have ever known!  She is so much fun!  There were no complications with her is delivery what so ever....

New Things & Changes

My life has changed so much in the past half a year!  It is amazing how much God has moved things around and made things happen that I could not control even if I tried.  I was very unhappy, lonely, and disappointed. But now my life feels like the happiest time I have had in my life.   I have to be honest.... many times we can look at what all took place in our hard times of the past and walk away saying we learned something from it.  The only thing I can see that happen for us in MANY of the things that took place between May 2011 to June 2012 is our character was tested. It is so important to remain in good character and do the right thing no matter what others do, don’t do, say or not say. Stand with Integrity. Over all this time I am speechless and have decided that I am not going to analyze anything and just be glad that God has pulled us out of the fire. We live in a fallen world full of sin and scripture says in Matthew 5:45 “He causes his sun to rise...

Hard times......................

When your world feels like it is all falling apart.  Trust God.   This past two months of my life have been the hardest ever. So many things have happen that I have no control over and have changed things forever and will never be the same again. My only hope is God will take all this and use it for good.  I see how he is already.  Things that were not completely right but had been pushed aside and not looked at as a big problem are now being made right.  It is amazing how those little things effect more than we realized.  Things that didn't seem like a big deal or staple to the big picture that have now been addressed suddenly have changed the look of our future. Through I do not believe God makes evil happen to bring out what is righteous.  I believe without a doubt that for will use was intended for bad for his good. Genesis 50:20 “ You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the savin...

Annual Retrospec Films Vacation

At the beginning of March, I was so blessed to get to go with Retrospec Films on our annual vacation.  We have gone to Colorado for the past.........gezzz....so long I cant remember for sure.  I would have to ask my brother.  Something like 8 years. Anyway it was a fun and relaxing time!  I have some pictures on my facebook to see.  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10200661872299336.1073741825.1536493160&type=3 We stayed in a 5 story cabin that didn’t spare any expenses.  It was decked out!  I have never stayed in a place so nice.  We eat alot of nice places, shopped in Aspen, and Breckinridge. Snow and hot tub, movies, sleeping in.  It was amazing! I am so thankful that every year my sweet husband lets me go.  Of corse he is always invited but leaving our two kids for 10 days has never worked so he has always stayed behind for them.  He is a great dad! Im blessed, proud, and thankful to be working...

Kids, Summer Camp, Recording

Tomorrow is the last day of March!  Time went by so fast!!!!  Alot has happened in a month!  I am going to start with this and write more later. Taken 3.29.13 Gavin & Aliyah Jackson.  Two of my most favorite people! I am so proud of my kids!  In all I do I have to say that watching my kids reminds in of the things that matter the most in life.  Family is so important.   The memories we make together, the unconditional love we share. I love seeing them as they grow in deeper thought and make goals.  Jared and I support them in their pursuits, and encourage them in the talents we see already instilled inside them.  Gavin is a straight “A” student, enjoys sports, and music. For Christmas he asked for a guitar and has been practicing. He plays almost all sports well. He did soccer on a team last summer and thinking about basketball when that session comes. He is young enough to just try out all these things and decided which ...
