Branching Out

This evening I was trimming our bushes and it made me think how sometimes we as Christians need a trim. Over time some little branches start growing their own way then the bush begins to look lopsided or out of shape.  Some of the branches stuck out so obviously it made me laugh thinking, "Why on earth didn't I see that and trim it before?" Other branches were not such a big deal but still affected the shape and just needed to be minimized. Sometimes life too is hard to balance.  If I had just taken a step back and took a good look at the big picture I would have seen it was not in the best shape or what was intended.  I think life can be this way at times.  We have so many pursuits that are not bad necessarily but in the big picture don't have a lot of value. We also have some things that are so big and obvious but for some reason, we just didn't bother to remove it. Maybe we were thinking it would just work itself out.  Concluding thought, I needed a trim.

We always hear people say,  "What you make time for is what is important to you."   I somewhat agree with this and when I hear it said I say, "That's right!"  However, in reality there have been distractions and little pursuits that have branched out that were not so important in my life. I have kind of allowed them to take up my time.  It wasn't that the original plans were not important enough for my time,  I just needed to focus and remember what I always knew I was called to do.  I still have some visions and dreams I have not fully seen come to pass.  It is time to take it to the next level!

With much prayer and consideration, Jared and I have decided to get help for me that we know could take things to the next level.  I am now working with an artist developer to help guide, give tools and resources to help me grow in my influence and talent in music.  This person has been suggested to me over and over again. In fact they had been right in front of me and I didn't get the nerve to just share my heart. Now that we are working together, we've found out that through in laws and cousins we are actually family.  Is this a leading of God or is it just a small world? Probably both!

Please be in prayer for me and this upcoming journey.  Our mission is to make a difference, and let Christ work through us to reach the lost and dying world with the truth of the Gospel.

I strongly believe in the influence of music, the power of words, and the Word of God being shared and demonstrated through song and testimony.  Here we go!

Refuge Verdigris, Falls Creek, and Worship

Goodness, I have so much to share!  I feel that I need more time so I can post all that has been happening.  I would like to interact more with those of you that love being involved with social media.  So the first thing I'd like to share some of what all has taken place this summer.  Our life was blessed by various camps for the entire month of June.  Falls Creek being one of them.  Falls Creek is a BGCO owned and operated summer youth camp located in the beautiful Arbuckle Mountains in Davis, OK. Each week they host over 6000 students and sponsors on the campgrounds. There are eight total weeks of youth camp at Falls Creek and each summer we host a total of upwards of 54,000 guests!   Here is a link to see more information about this camp!  You should check it out and consider it if you have never been and are looking for an experience to have with your students. Kids, Summer Camp, Recording

Tomorrow is the last day of March!  Time went by so fast!!!!  Alot has happened in a month!  I am going to start with this and write more later. Taken 3.29.13 Gavin & Aliyah Jackson.  Two of my most favorite people! I am so proud of my kids!  In all I do I have to say that watching my kids reminds in of the things that matter the most in life.  Family is so important.   The memories we make together, the unconditional love we share. I love seeing them as they grow in deeper thought and make goals.  Jared and I support them in their pursuits, and encourage them in the talents we see already instilled inside them.  Gavin is a straight “A” student, enjoys sports, and music. For Christmas he asked for a guitar and has been practicing. He plays almost all sports well. He did soccer on a team last summer and thinking about basketball when that session comes. He is young enough to just try out all these things and decided which ...
