Branching Out

This evening I was trimming our bushes and it made me think how sometimes we as Christians need a trim. Over time some little branches start growing their own way then the bush begins to look lopsided or out of shape.  Some of the branches stuck out so obviously it made me laugh thinking, "Why on earth didn't I see that and trim it before?" Other branches were not such a big deal but still affected the shape and just needed to be minimized. Sometimes life too is hard to balance.  If I had just taken a step back and took a good look at the big picture I would have seen it was not in the best shape or what was intended.  I think life can be this way at times.  We have so many pursuits that are not bad necessarily but in the big picture don't have a lot of value. We also have some things that are so big and obvious but for some reason, we just didn't bother to remove it. Maybe we were thinking it would just work itself out.  Concluding thought, I needed a trim.

We always hear people say,  "What you make time for is what is important to you."   I somewhat agree with this and when I hear it said I say, "That's right!"  However, in reality there have been distractions and little pursuits that have branched out that were not so important in my life. I have kind of allowed them to take up my time.  It wasn't that the original plans were not important enough for my time,  I just needed to focus and remember what I always knew I was called to do.  I still have some visions and dreams I have not fully seen come to pass.  It is time to take it to the next level!

With much prayer and consideration, Jared and I have decided to get help for me that we know could take things to the next level.  I am now working with an artist developer to help guide, give tools and resources to help me grow in my influence and talent in music.  This person has been suggested to me over and over again. In fact they had been right in front of me and I didn't get the nerve to just share my heart. Now that we are working together, we've found out that through in laws and cousins we are actually family.  Is this a leading of God or is it just a small world? Probably both!

Please be in prayer for me and this upcoming journey.  Our mission is to make a difference, and let Christ work through us to reach the lost and dying world with the truth of the Gospel.

I strongly believe in the influence of music, the power of words, and the Word of God being shared and demonstrated through song and testimony.  Here we go!

Life is a journey....my testimony.

Updated on September 13, 2017 Let me introduce myself first. My name is Rachel Jackson, I am a singer/songwriter and speaker. My heart is to minister to people and encourage people to be real and honest with God, themselves, and others. My prayer is that through music and word will come healing, deliverance, restoration, and salvation. In ministering in this way a movement was started that has made a large impact in schools. I have been in ministry for 16 years reaching out to women, children, youth, and college aged students.  My music has received regular airplay on several radio stations across America. I have led worship in many settings from church camps to inside prison walls. I serve as a youth leader next to my husband that is the youth pastor of Angus Church in Sand Springs, OK.   Jared Jackson and I have 3 kids together and have been married for 13 years. I’ve been blessed with a life that lends itself to exploration and discovery. My greatest find during my journey,

Some Strengthening

With all the troubles in this world some need a little help. We were never met to do this life on our own anyways. Sometimes it can just be that you feel stuck and unable to successfully change your feelings, thoughts or behaviors. It is likely that you are being affected by experiences from your past.  Any experiences that continues to exert a negative influence is traumatic.  Not all traumatic events are horrifying or tragic.  Sometimes traumatic experiences are remembered, but often they are repressed or forgotten.  I would like to introduced you to Guy Earle.  Guy Earle is a certified counselor in Rapid Resolution Therapy. He is also author of “Transformed Through His Thoughts.” and “Purpose is a Decision, Discover, Develop, and Disseminate the riches within you”.  Guy is the director of Counseling for Dr. Tony Evans at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship  ( http://www.ocbfchurch.org /).  Guy is a speaker, trainer, author, and life coach.   If you are in need of some strengthening
