Branching Out

This evening I was trimming our bushes and it made me think how sometimes we as Christians need a trim. Over time some little branches start growing their own way then the bush begins to look lopsided or out of shape.  Some of the branches stuck out so obviously it made me laugh thinking, "Why on earth didn't I see that and trim it before?" Other branches were not such a big deal but still affected the shape and just needed to be minimized. Sometimes life too is hard to balance.  If I had just taken a step back and took a good look at the big picture I would have seen it was not in the best shape or what was intended.  I think life can be this way at times.  We have so many pursuits that are not bad necessarily but in the big picture don't have a lot of value. We also have some things that are so big and obvious but for some reason, we just didn't bother to remove it. Maybe we were thinking it would just work itself out.  Concluding thought, I needed a trim....

Ja'Marc Davis

Me and Jared took a little trip to Dallas and met up with this guy!!! So worth the 10 hours on the road! Ja'Marc is truly a blessing and we love his heart to reach the lost with the best of his abilities! Thank you @jamarcdavis for sharing your ministry and your story with us as well as hearing ours! We are friends on a mission! Excited for the future! JaMac Davis After serving 3 years as a backup dancer for Christian hip-hop pioneer’s ETW and serving 2 years as backup dancer for Carman, Davis struck out on his own. In 1996 Ja'Marc’ s musical career exploded on the Christian music scene with the emergence of pop vocal group Raze. Raze brought an infectious energy to the Christian contemporary scene in Europe first, before signing with one of the world’s top recording companies, catapulting them to the top of the national charts. Raze racked up over 500,000 albums sold and garnered critical acclaim with 4 album releases. 3 Dove Awards accompanied the two #1 songs “Alwa...

Thank You!

Thank you to all the churches that have shown me love and support.  Thank you for your encouragement and friendship.  Lets reach the lost together!

Fields of Faith

This Wednesday Jared and I are lead ing worship along with a team of other local ministers!  This is so awesome because of the fact that the focus is to worship God in unity and not on what church we represent .  Our essential belief in Christ is the same which is f or s tudents to see our hearts and to gather as the body of Christ . It is important and beautiful in the eyes of God.  I believe this blesses him to see his people encourage and lead together for the sake of winning the lost and glorifying his name! The event is called “Fields of Faith” and it is worldwide!  Students across the world will gather on their school ’s athletic field to hear fellow students share their testimonies, challenge each other to read the Bible , and come to faith in Jesus Christ.   Jared and I took part in a “ Fields of Faith ” event for the first time in Sulphur Springs, Texas and wanted to bring it to Verdigris , Oklahoma .  There will be F...

Aliyah's Baptism

What a blessing my daughter has been in our lives! Aliyah is 6 years old. It blesses our hearts how God changes the hearts of little children so much they are compelled to desire to follow through in baptism. She asked to do this and with excitement and passion. We are so proud of her! Another exciting thing was her daddy got to baptize her! This was the first time Jared has been privileged to do a baptism and it was his daughter!! So cool and a memory forever!

Be Real. Be Honest

Something I believe in is talking candidly and honestly without fear of what others might think.  It should be for another's benefit to let them know of something that is usually hard to discuss. It is good to express sincere thoughts and opinions that are intended to be helpful. The two are not necessarily always inclusive but it is good to actually mean what you are saying and learn from each other.  Real talk is about things that are meaningful which is the opposite of what seems to be on Facebook.    There is something funny about honesty.  We often wrongly assign honesty to one we admire, but sadly, honesty is a characteristic not inherent or natural in humanity. To be truly and completely honest with someone, one must first be truly and completely honest with oneself. A lot of times we are incapable of seeing past our own fears, desires, prejudices, convictions, emotional attachments, memories, and flawed perceptions. It is hard viewing things witho...

Speak Life & Have Hope

The reason I write these newsletters at all is because I hope to encourage, minister truth and hope, reach out to people, and partner in prayer.  Because if you ask any of my closest friends, I am not a good speller or good with grammar, or desire to be a writer at all.  In fact its almost like one of the things I don’t like to take time to do, I would much rather talk face to face then write.  But for some reason God has laid this on my heart.  So I write when it comes to me and just flows out so easy it took no time at all.  This is really how my songs come to together as well.  Written in 15 mins and done. :) Today I would like to share Jovie Marie Jackson!  She is our new little addition to our family.  Now we are the Jackson 5. hehe!  Her name means Joyful and she sure is!!!  She smiles more than any baby I have ever known!  She is so much fun!  There were no complications with her is delivery what so ever....
